Dr. Poovazhagan. L. is a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Shiv Nadar University Chennai, with over 25 years of teaching and research experience. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, in 2014. His research focuses on metal matrix nanocomposites, micromachining, casting, and materials characterization. He has successfully completed a DST-SERB sponsored research project and another project funded by SSN trust. To his credit, he has published 66 papers in reputed international journals and presented 40 papers in international conferences. He has successfully guided 10 Ph.D. scholars under Anna University, in addition to supervising numerous postgraduate and undergraduate research projects. He served as an Associate Professor at SSN College of Engineering from September 2013 to June 2026 before joining Shiv Nadar University Chennai in July 2026. In recognition of his excellence in teaching and research contributions, he was honoured with the Best Teacher Award at SSN College of Engineering for four consecutive years.
