About

Shyam Diwakar is the Director of Amrita Mind Brain Center, a Professor at the department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering and a Faculty fellow at the Amrita Center for International Programs at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Amrita University). He is the Institute Integration Coordinator and Lab Development Coordinator of Virtual Labs Project, a major initiative supported by Sakshat mission of Ministry of Education, Government of India, Principal Investigator of few other projects funded by Department of Science and Technology, Indian PI of WeNet, H2020 project. He was awarded the Young Faculty Research Fellowship under the Sir Visvesvaraya PhD scheme by Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of India in April 2016. He is the current coordinator of an India-Italy Network of Excellence project "MSBFIINE" involving 6 Universities in India and Italy. He holds a Ph. D. in Computational Sciences from University of Milan, Italy and has worked on as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Physiology, University of Pavia, Italy.He is a senior member of IEEE, a professional member of ACM, a life member of Indian Academy of Neuroscience, and a faculty life member of the Computer Society of India. The current work at the center is on computational neuroscience, neurophysiology, bio-robotics and applied data sciences, and pedagogical techniques for enhancing medical and laboratory education through ICT.
