About
Mukul Kumar Das received his B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees in Radio Physics and Electronics from University of Calcutta, respectively in 1998, 2000. He served as faculty in different Engineering colleges in West Bengal, India during 2000-2004. He completed his Ph.D (Tech.) degree from Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta in 2008 as faculty fellow. He worked as full time faculty in the A. K. Choudhry School of Information Technology, under the same University during his Ph.D. He also worked as Internship Research Fellow at Ecole Polytechnique, France during June 2008 to August 2008.
Dr. Das joined at IIT (ISM), Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India in September 2008 and is currently serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics Engineering. He is also the Head & Project Coordinator of a project, Centre of Excellence in Renewable Energy, under FAST, MHRD, Govt. of India. His research fields include design and development of solar photovoltaic devices, modeling of Gr-IV based optoelectronic devices, Growth and study on metal oxide semiconductor based thin films by physical vapor deposition technique etc. He has published more than 25 research papers in SCI International Journals and guided 7 Ph.D.s till date.
Dr. Das is recipient of Young Scientist award by International Union of Radio Science (URSI) in its General Assembly held in Chicago, USA in 2008. He is also recipient of National Scholarship for B.Sc. (Hons.) and was awarded by Indian Association of Physics Teachers for qualifying Part A and Part B of National Graduate Physics Examination (NGPE) in 1995. He became senior member of IEEE in 2010.
