I am a scientist (NIH/TMRC-project) in the Department of Medicine, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. My research is focused on Visceral Leishmaniasis, HIV/AIDS and other neglected tropical diseases, e.g., Lymphatic Filariasis and Leprosy. I have considerable expertise in the research of leishmaniasis epidemiology, molecular techniques of diagnosis, and Lymphatic Filariasis co-infection. As a co-principal investigator of the Visceral Leishmaniasis Elimination initiative, NIH-funded grants, I helped establish the groundwork for the proposed research by developing effective measures for the experimental as well as the field research work.
