Bann Seng Tan is an Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Relations at Ashoka University. He is an Associate Editor of the Asia-Europe Journal: Studies on Common Policy Challenges.
Bann Seng Tan received his PhD from the City University New York, Graduate Centre. His primary research interest is on the causes and effects of democratisation. Other research interests include the democratic peace, the political economy of foreign aid, natural disasters, and democratization. Bann Seng is the author of Aid and Democracy Promotion: Liberalization at the Margins, published in 2021. His recent publications include “The Revenge of ‘Democratic Peace’”.
