About

I am an accomplished medical educator, administrator, and researcher with more than 20 years of academic experience. I am proficient in didactic teaching, problem-based learning, and team-based learning. I have had exposure to various cultures during my academic endeavor which spread to India, Nepal, the Caribbean, and the USA where I mentored students from more than 30 countries.
My present role as Associate Professor at Mercer University School of Medicine offers me to facilitate M.D. (PBL and LGs) and graduate students (Didactic and TBL) along with mentoring several students for their capstone projects. Along with academics, I was the Founding Dean of the School of Biomedical Sciences, TMSU, where I implemented the uniform format for syllabi, helped the faculty to modify their curriculum, and modified the system for reporting the grades and achievements to the students. Chaired the Educational Program self-study for the CAAM-HP accreditation process at TMSU. At present, I am serving as Assistant Director for MSPCS program along with being a member of various admissions committee and faculty search committees.
My research interest includes medical education, diabetes, cardiovascular, cancer, and nutrition. I published 1 book, 2 book chapters, 32 full-length papers, and 15 abstracts. I am serving as reviewer and editorial board member of dozens of international medical journals. I have been appointed for PhD examiner for several students from various universities.
I always try to implement new tools and techniques for teaching and mentoring. I actively participate in improving the curriculum with the latest trends. My passion for teaching and mentoring awarded me several “Best Professor Awards” by the students’ government.
