About
I was born in 1987 in a small village called Vickramasingapuram in Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu, India. After completing my school education in Vickramasingapuram, I moved to Thiruvananthapuram to pursue my Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from Government College, Kariavattom, University of Kerala. Then I pursued my Master's Degree in Earth Remote Sensing and Geo-Information Technology from the Department of Earth Remote Sensing and Cartography, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. After completing my Master’s degree I joined Centre for Earth Science Studies (now NCESS), Akkulam, Thiruvananthapuram as a Project Fellow. I completed my Ph.D. in Hyperspectral Remote Sensing of Mangroves from the Department of Earth and Space Sciences, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram in the year. Later, I was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt International Climate Fellowship granted by Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), Government of Germany in 2017. Under this fellowship, I was working as a Guest Scientist / Postdoctoral Researcher in Coasts and River Basins Group, Land Surface Department, German Remote Sensing Data Centre (DFD), German Aerospace Centre (DLR) Oberpfaffenhofen, Wessling, Germany from March 2017 until May 2018.
