About
Prof. Kaithwas has pursued his Masters in Pharmacology from Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi and Ph.D. from Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, technology and Sciences, Allahabad (Formerly Allahabad Agricultural Institute-Deemed to be University), India. He carries more than 15 years of academics and scientific research experience. His areas of research interest include Prolyl hydroxylase-2, Factor inhibiting hypoxia inducible factor-1α and fatty acid synthase regulation in Hypoxia and Bioactive lipids mediated regulation of hypoxia inducible factor-1α. He has mentored more than 60 Masters Research scholars and 06 PhD Research scholars, and he is currently supervising the 04 Masters Research scholars, 05 PhD, and 02 Post-Doctoral Fellows. He along with his research team is actively involved in execution of several Govt. funded research projects for establishment of novel strategy against hypoxia mediated solid tumours. He has been awarded Young Scientist Award, European Institute of Scientific Research on Ayurveda, Netherland in 2015, and Research Excellence Award from BBAU for his contribution in research in 2014 and 2020. He has been sanctioned project research grant from several funding agencies including the SERB, MOFPI and the ICMR to carry out their research. He has been awarded appreciation award for the work "Modulating Prolyl Hydroxylase (PHD2) activity to alter glycolytic pathway and fatty acid synthase expression in tumour cells" Cancer Research Foundation, India, 2020. He has 02 “Patents”, 02 books, 04 chapters in his credit, in addition to more than 89 research publications in reputed International Journals with 1417+ citations 21 H-index.
