About
Myself P.Thanabalan born on 27th December 1986. I am from Madurai, in Tamil Nadu. I did my schooling in my native place, and after that, I pursued Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from (2005-2009) for a 4-years at PSNA College of Engg & Tech, Dindigul, affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. I joined for a Master's in Geomatics Engineering at the Institute of Remote Sensing, Department of Civil Engineering, CEG Guindy, Anna University Chennai. Further, she went to NIO/CSIR, Goa, for my master's dissertation project. For my project, I worked under Shri T.Suresh, Scientist F Marine Instrumentation Division (MID), and my work involved ocean color remote sensing chlorophyll sampling and satellite prediction and validation along coastal water off Goa. This project helped me to improve my career as a researcher in the scientific community. After my master's, I started my Ph.D. specializing in Soil Moisture using Active SAR remote sensing at the Institute of Remote Sensing, Department of Civil Engineering, CEG Guindy, Anna University Chennai. I actively participated in all International / National conferences/workshops during my Ph.D. duration (ISPRS-2014, NANSEN-NERCI Indo-Pacific workshop, Cochin -2014, ISRS-Taiwan, 2015, SPIE-Asia at Delhi, 2016, Short-term course on Agrometeorology in IIRS-ISRO, 2016 and SMAP training at SAC-ISRO, 2018. I am currently working as project scientist at National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR), MoES, GoI, Chennai, India
