Dr. Amitava Mukherjee has a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Jadavpur University Kolkata, India. Dr. Mukherjee is currently a Professor at Birla Institute of Technology and Science-Pilani, Dubai Campus. He was a Professor of Dept of CSE at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (University), Amritapuri, Kerala, India from Feb 2022-Jul 2025. Dr. Mukherjee is a Courtesy Adjunct Professor at College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, University at Albany, NY since Aug 2021.
As a Senior Manager of IBM India and Principal Consultant of PwC India over 22 years until 2017 he has extensive experience in realizing computational solutions to interdisciplinary fields of engineering, telecommunications, and biomedicine as well as global strategy implementation. Academically, Dr. Mukherjee has served as Dean at the School of Engineering and Technology and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Adamas University, Barasat, Kolkata, India, as well as a visiting Professor on sabbatical at the University of New South Wales, Sydney and Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. His recent contributions in research include the areas of Computational Neuroscience modelling and system design, Application of AI/ML in bioengineering and distributed deep neural networks, Complex network and Core communication networks. Dr. Mukherjee has 198 publications including papers, patents, book chapters and books. He is an IEEE Life Member from 2025.
Not the least, Amitava is an author. His first book namely "বটপাতায় জলবিন্দু"was published in last Sep2023 followed by the 2nd book "সে এমনই" in Jan 2025.
