About

Nagaraja Ingaladal pursued his PhD at CSIR–National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram, India, under the mentorship of Dr. Ravi S. Lankalapalli. His research focuses on the total synthesis of carbohydrates, particularly iminosugars and their analogues, with emphasis on synthetic methodology development and the discovery of novel bioactive molecules with antiviral, antidiabetic, neurotherapeutic, and anticancer potential. With eight years of research experience, he has built expertise in multistep synthesis, natural product isolation, yield optimization, metabolomic profiling using HR-LC-MS/MS, and structural elucidation through advanced 2D NMR techniques. His technical experience also includes large-scale and moisture-sensitive reactions, the synthesis of polysaccharide-based gels, and the optimization of industrially relevant pesticide and pharmaceutical molecules. Aspiring to become an independent researcher, he seeks to advance scholarship at the intersection of glycobiology, synthetic organic chemistry, and natural product science through innovative, interdisciplinary, and biologically oriented molecular research.
