Dr. KARTAR SINGH

About

Kartar Singh is an assistant professor of Geospatial Technology in the School of Earth Sciences, Banasthali Vidyapith (Deemed University). He joined the Banasthali faculty of Earth Sciences after five years working as an Institute Fellow (Ph.D.) at The Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi. In his research, Professor Singh studied wetland condition and management issues using Geoinformatics with a focus on development of remote sensing imagery based algorithms. His two major areas of inquiry concern the management of hypersaline-alkaline shallow (HSAS) lake, Sambhar in Rajasthan and development of generic image processing algorithms. He was awarded the BIT PhD Institute Fellowship for his doctoral research. Professor Singh earned his master’s degree in Geoinformatics from Department of Remote Sensing, BIT, Mesra, India.
