Presently working as Professor of Electrical Engineering Department of Institute of Technology, Nirma University (NU), Ahmedabad. In professional career span of 23 years, he has worked for AMTECH Electronics India Ltd.,-Gandhinagar, Electrical Research and Development Association (ERDA),-Vadodara, and Nirma University (NU), at various positions such as; Junior Engineer, Assistant Engineer, Engineer, Senior Engineer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Associate Professor, Professor, Section Head, and Head of the Department (for two terms of three-years each, during 2012-2018). During 2012-2018, he served as Chairman of Board of Studies of Electrical Engg., Electronics & Communication Engg., and Instrumentation & Control Engg. Programmes as well of NU. He has also worked as Director (i/c) - Institute of Technology, and Dean (i/c) - Faculty of Technology and Engineering (FoTE) of Nirma University for the Academic Year 2015-16. He worked as member of Academic Council of Nirma University, Senior Administrative Officer in the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), PG Programme Coordinator, and Professor In-Charge of Industry-Institution Interaction (III) Cell of Institute of Technology. He works as Chief Editor of NU Journal of Engineering and Technology (NUJET). His areas of interest are Power Electronics, Machines, Power Supplies, Solar Inverters, Energy Conservation, Multi-Level Inverters, Drives, Active Power Filters, Power Quality, and Smart Grid. He is Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, with Tag Corporation Medal Award for ‘The Best Ph.D. Thesis’. He is the ‘First Rank’ holder in M.E., and ‘University First (Gold Medallist)’ in B.E. He is the recipient of following prestigious awards:

He visited Israel as a part of delegation invited by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel to attend “Discover Israel for Young Leaders Programee - Higher Education, Innovation and Start-Up Ecosystem” in November 2018. He has authored more than 90 research papers (getting more than 1112 Citations, and h-index of 16). Countries in which he has published research papers are: India, Canada, USA, England, Scotland, Germany, Austria, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, Poland, Belgium, Singapore, Japan, and Australia, to name a few. He worked as Instructor for Robocon Team of NU, and as National Champions, represented India in International ABU-Robocon Competition-2003 at Thailand. He has guided 2 Ph.D. theses, 47 M.Tech. dissertations, 36 undergraduate major projects, and large number of minor projects as-well-as seminars. He has edited a book on conference proceedings with CRC Press (Taylor and Francis Group). He successfully completed seven funded research projects during his services at ERDA. He was instrumental in setting up Domestic Appliances and Wiring Accessories Lab, and the first EMI/EMC lab of Gujarat state at ERDA, complying IEC standards. He also technically contributed in EDT-14 Committee of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), New Delhi. Dr. Tekwani has profound experience of working for accreditation processes of NABL, BIS, NAAC, and NBA. He is senior member of IEEE, and IEEE-Industrial Electronics Society, USA, and life member of ISTE and Society of Power Engineers (India). He has successfully completed several industrial consultancy assignments, delivered large number of training programmes to industries, and organized several Short Term Training Programmes (STTPs) and conferences. He has served as session chair, reviewer, and programme committee member for several National and International conferences. He has served several times as Advisor to the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) for recruitment of faculty members. Dr. Tekwani has won Best Paper Award several times at different National and International conferences. He is “Young Associate” of INAE. He also works as Associate Editor of IEEE Transaction on Industrial Electronics, USA. His outstanding accomplishments have earned him a position of his name in 33rd Edition of Marquis Who'sWho in the World-2016, and then subsequently consistently in 2017, 2018, and 2019 editions of it also.
