About

Jagannath Bhuyan received his M.Sc. (Chemistry) from Gauhati University, Guwahati, India. He received his Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 2012, under the supervision of Prof Sabyasachi Sarkar. Then he joined Professor Patrick J. Farmer’s group at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Baylor University, Waco, Texas, USA as a Postdoctoral research associate. He worked as an Assistant Professor in the Chemistry Department at the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Nirjuli, Itanagar, India from 2015 to 2024. Currently, he is a professor at the Department of Chemistry, Bhattadev University, Bajali, Pathsala, Assam, India. His current research is focused on synthesizing novel tetrapyrrole macrocycles and their applications in catalysis, sensing, solar energy absorption, etc.
