About
I am Dr. A. Hemamalini, an Assistant Professor with a deep passion for Chemistry, teaching, and research. My journey in academics has been driven by curiosity, perseverance, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
My interest in Chemistry began during my undergraduate studies at Bharathi Women's College, Chennai, where I pursued my Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. My dedication to academics earned me the Best Chemistry Student Award, which became a source of motivation to pursue higher studies and research.
Inspired by my fascination with Organic Chemistry, I joined the Department of Organic Chemistry, University of Madras, to pursue my Master's degree. My passion for scientific research encouraged me to continue my academic journey at the same institution, where I completed my Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) under the guidance of Dr. T. Mohan Das. My doctoral research provided me with valuable experience in synthetic organic chemistry, and I was privileged to publish more than ten research papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals during my research career.
A significant milestone in my professional life came in 2017, when I was selected through the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), Tamil Nadu, as an Assistant Professor. Since then, I have been serving with dedication, striving to inspire students through quality education while actively engaging in research and academic development.
I firmly believe that learning never ends. To keep myself updated with emerging trends in science and education, I have successfully completed several NPTEL certification courses. I continuously seek opportunities to enhance my knowledge and teaching methodologies so that I can contribute effectively to my students and the academic community.
My research interests include organic synthesis, heterocyclic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and computational studies of bioactive molecules. I remain committed to expanding my research contributions through quality publications, collaborative projects, and innovative ideas that can benefit both science and society.
Looking back, every stage of my journey has strengthened my belief that dedication, hard work, and a genuine passion for learning are the keys to success. As an educator and researcher, I aspire to continue contributing to the advancement of science, mentor young minds, and make a meaningful impact through teaching, research, and service to society.
