About

Dr. Pankaj Kumar is a Meteorologist and has obtained his Ph. D. degree from IITM, Pune in 2007 under the supervision of Dr. Rupa Kumar Koli and Dr. M.Rajeevan. Later, moved to Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, Germany as a Research Scientist and worked until June 2014. In July 2014, he shifted his job to GERICS, Germany and worked there until August 2015. During his Germany stay he has largely worked on the South-Asia climate focusing on Indian monsoon dynamics and variability under changing climate scenario using climate models. He is the recipient of prestigious Ramanujan fellowship and MPI visiting scientist fellowship. Recently, he has been nominated as International Expert for OPACE by WMO, United Nations.
