About
I am a chemistry graduate, completed by M.Sc. in Chemistry from Mangalore university in 2000. After a brief industrial stint at M/S Syngene International Pvt. Ltd, I joined Department of Chemistry @ IIT Bombay and completed my Ph.D. studies (awarded 2008) by working on fascinating chemistry involving electrophiles.
I carried my post-doctoral research at the University of Rutgers, New Jersey, New Brunswick, USA. This was followed by post-doctoral training at the department of medicinal chemistry, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, New Jersey, and a brief stint @ City College, New York. I was a research investigator at Biocon Bristol Myers Squibb R&D Centre, Bengaluru, and turned my attention to academia by acting in the roles of assistant professor and associate professor. So far, I have guided 1 Ph.D. student and several M.Sc students for internships.
My interest in entrepreneurship revolves around career guidance/coaching, waste recycling with an emphasis on lower emissions, and nutraceuticals. My research interests include synthetic organic chemistry, chiral and medicinal chemistry. My teaching interests lie in applied and stereoselective organic chemistry including spectroscopy.
Currently I am the principal consultant operating to promote stewardship in pharma, solid waste management and water treatment. We help provide solutions to MSME in pharma to build their portfolio and business operations across spectrum by leveraging new opportunities and growth.
