Dr. Moinak Sen Sarma, MD, DM is an Additional Professor in the Dept of Pediatric Gastroenterology and has been serving as faculty in Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow since 2017.
His areas of interest are Wilson disease, complications of cirrhosis, portal hypertension, pediatric endoscopic ultrasonography and celiac disease. Presently, he is working on multiple projects with extramural and intramural grants.

He has received several scientific awards including Young Investigator Award from the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of Liver (APASL) and European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN). He is also the recipient of the Liver Grant Foundation award, SR-Naik award and Om Prakash Award from the Indian Society of Gastroenterology. He has also received the Prof SR Naik award (SGPGIMS) Prof SS Agarwal Award, RK Sharma award and Best Research Day awards.
He has contributed to book chapters in various gastroenterology and pediatric textbooks (including Nelson's Pediatrics).
He is a faculty speaker at international forums such as International Registry for Congenital Portosystemic Shunts (IRCPSS, Geneva 2022), Asian Pan-Pacific Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (APPSPGHAN, Korea, 2023), Federation of International Societies of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (FISPGHAN. Argentina 2024), Commonwealth Association of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (CAPGHAN, Kenya 2025) and European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN, France 2026). He has been awarded SK Yachha Oration at the Indian Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ISPGHAN, Bengaluru 2025)
He has served on the editorial board of prestigious journals, editor-in-chief of Annals of Pediatric Gastroenterolgy and Hepatology (APGH), external examiner for DM exams, expert on national advisories and expert for faculty selection in various institutes.
