About

Dr. P. Shanmugavadivu Pichai, serves as Professor of Computer Science and Applications in Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed to be University), Dindigul, Tamil Nadu. She has 28 years of experience in Teaching and 18 years in Research. Her areas of research include Medical Image Analysis, Digital Image Processing, Parallel Computing, Healthcare Data Analytics, Content Based Image Retrieval and Software Engineering, Dr.Pichai has authored about 100+ research publications in international Journals/ National & International Conferences. She has conducted national conference, training programmes, and workshops. She has delivered 145 lectures as Keynote Speaker, Chief Guest, invited Speaker etc.,. She is a recipient of Indo-US 21st Century Knowledge Initiative Award 2015. She has received research funds from TNSCST, UGC, DST and ICMR, with an outlay of 150.60 Lakh. She visited China, Malaysia and USA on international academic assignment. Dr.Pichai holds a Master’s degree in Computer Applications (1990) from Regional Engineering College, Trichy, Ph.D.(2008) in Digital Image Restoration from Gandhigram Rural Institute, and MBA (2015) from IGNOU. She is the Local Coordinator for the Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN), MHRD, India and Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell of her institution.
