I have completed my master's degree and Ph.D. from the Department of Studies in Anthropology, Karnatak University Dharwad. I have conducted research on the Halakki Vokkalu community, a tribe exclusively found in Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka State. The topic was A Study of Health Seeking Behaviour among the Hallakki Vokkalu community of Uttar Kannada District, Karnataka. I qualified for UGC-NET in Anthropology in 2014. I am a certified ATLAS.ti (qualitative data management and analysis software) trainer in the Asia-Pacific region. I was working as an Assistant Professor and Coordinator, at the Centre for Bio Cultural Studies, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal. Prior to this, I was working in various capacities in various intuitions; I worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Anthropology, at Karnatak University, Dharwad, as a Research Associate at Transdisciplinary Centre for Qualitative Methods, MAHE Manipal, and as a field Investigator/Research Assistant in Karnataka State Tribal Research Institute, Mysore Government of Karnataka. I am one of the collaborators in the Global Burden of Diseases project by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, University of Washington. I am Ex- Officio Vice President of the United Indian Anthropology Forum, Governing Council Member of the Anthropological Association for Humankind, Hyderabad, a Life Member Anthropological Association, Mysore and Indian National Confederation, and the Academy of Anthropologists.
