Motivation:
An enthusiastic, adaptive and self-motivated person with a broad interest in the field of Applied Meteorology. Having a meteorological background, I particularly look forward to learning from and collaborating with research scientists to develop new skills and methodologies to understand and predict extreme weather events and their societal impacts.
Research Areas:
• Understanding the spatiotemporal variability and prediction of heat and cold waves over India in an extended range (i.e., 2-3 weeks in advance) time scale
• Societal impacts of extreme weather conditions (e.g., on human health)
• Indian Summer Monsoon, its variability, and predictability

Awards and Honours:
• IMS young scientist award for the best paper published on tropical meteorology in 2019.
• 30th Biennial MAUSAM Award by International Quarterly Research Journal MAUSAM in 2018-2019
• Selected as a DST INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) scholar for the period 2007-2012 (during B.Sc. and M.Sc.) for higher studies.
Responsibilities:
I am involved in the model development activities for the improvement of extended range prediction (2-3 weeks lead time) and generating different products, such as predictions of heat waves, cold waves, Indian summer monsoon rainfall, soil moisture, Cyclogenesis, MJO, MISO, etc.
Technical Skills:
Fortran programming, GrADS, and CDO are being used for different types of analysis of climatic and weather datasets.
Interests:
I have a great interest in music, particularly in singing and playing instruments (cajon). I also enjoy sports activities, playing football, cricket, and table tennis.
