About
I am basically a plant breeder and geneticist. I am working on rice crop since last 6 years. Initially I did work for development of hybrid rice through CGMS system and study the genetics of fertility restorer genes during my master's research. During my Ph.D. research, I have worked on Genome wide association mapping for grain nutritional and quality traits in traditional rice landraces. Total 18 novel genomic regions for 11 nutritional and yield attributing traits were identified during this study. I have good experience of plant molecular biology and biotechnology as well as handling of large germplasm lines for their evaluation and maintenance. Also I have good hands on biostatistical softwares for data analysis like POWERMARKER, STRUCTURE, TASSEL, DARWIN, GENALEX, PAST, XLSTAT, MEGA, DARWIN, OPSTAT etc. QTL mapping, association mapping, MAS, RNA Seq., MutMap+ are some special techniques which makes strong points of my research career. At present I am working on improvement and revival of traditional rice landraces of Chhattisgarh, India through radiation induced mutagenesis.
