About
I am a Social and Development Geographer with research interests spanning political economy, urban studies, social inequality, and development processes in India. My research engages with themes of land dispossession, peri-urban transformation, urban informality, geographies of work, and social inequality, with a particular emphasis on the socio-political processes through which geographic spaces are produced and transformed in the contemporary world.
My work is situated within critical development geography and urban studies, with a focus on medium-sized cities, urban gentrification, and neoliberal urbanism, informed by socio-spatial theories. Through this lens, I examine how power, governance, and capital shape uneven socio-spatial outcomes across urban and peri-urban contexts.
In addition to my research, I teach Development Theory, Urban, Social, and Welfare Geography. I am deeply committed to mentoring students and actively contributing to interdisciplinary debates on society, space, and development.
