About
Dr Pramod K Singh is a Professor at the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), where he has served since 2003. He holds an M.Sc. and M.Phil. in Environmental Sciences, and a Ph.D. in Sustainable Development from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. With over 27 years of experience in teaching and research, his expertise spands environment and development planning, green business strategy, food and livelihood security, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and the modelling of complex and hard-to-model systems.
Dr Singh has published in several high-impact international journals and led 38 research studies supported by reputed national and international agencies. At IRMA, he teaches postgraduate and doctoral courses such as Rural Livelihood Systems, Sustainable Development and Green Business, ESG, and Natural Resource Management integrating interdisciplinary knowledge with practice-oriented learning.
He served as a Lead Author for the Sixth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), contributing to the global framing of Climate Resilient Development Pathways. As Coordinating Lead Author for the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), he led the assessment on the interlinkages among biodiversity, water, food, health, and climate change responses. He is also an expert to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), contributing to the evolving framework on the Global Goal on Adaptation.
Dr Singh plays a key role in representing the concerns and priorities of the Global South in these and several others international science-policy processes, advancing inclusive, just, and sustainable pathways for development.
