About
Abhishek Kumar is a plant ecologist currently working as a Project Associate in the National Mission for Sustaining Himalayan Ecosystem (NMSHE) project funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, at ICAR–National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, New Delhi.
Dr. Kumar’s research focuses on the patterns, determinants, and dynamics of plant communities along elevational gradients, with a strong emphasis on biodiversity responses to climate change in the Indian Himalayas. His broader interests span plant ecology, species distribution, ecological restoration, and research synthesis, aiming to inform evidence-based management strategies. Guided by the values of collaboration, integrity, and open science, Dr. Kumar aspires to contribute meaningfully to ecological research and conservation planning in the context of global environmental change.
