Dr. Vishal Goyal is currently serving as Professor, Department of Computer Science, Punjabi University Patiala, Punjab, with teaching and research experience of 25 years and 3 years of Software Industry Experience. His research areas are NLP, Technology Development for Differently Abled People and Machine learning. Prof. Goyal is an Editor-in-Chief for an International journal – “Research Cell: An International Journal of Engineering Sciences”. He has been awarded Young Scientist Award in 2015 by Punjab Academy of Sciences, two times State award by Punjab Govt. He has into his credit 10 copyrighted software, one trademark, two patents, 80 research publications in various journals and conferences of National and International repute. He has already completed projects worth 1 crore rupees and above funded by various Ministries of Govt. of India and number of projects are in progress. He is former Co-Coordinator for “Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science”, Coordinator for “Research Centre for technology Development for Differently Abled Persons” and Director of Centre for E-Learning and Teaching Excellence. He is former Controller of Examinations, Punjabi University Patiala. He is former Coordinator of Punjabi Computer Help Centre and Punjabipedia, Punjabi University Patiala. He is former Deputy Director, IQAC, Punjabi University Patiala.
