About
Dr. Anirban Chowdhury serves as Associate Professor in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at IIT Patna and works in Materials Chemistry, Ceramics and Process-Structure corelationships etc. He is the recipient of the prestigious ORS award and a Tetley & Lupton Scholarship while continuing his PhD at the Institute for Materials Research, University of Leeds, UK (2005-2009). He earned his B. Tech. in Ceramics from the College of Ceramic Technology, University of Calcutta (1999-2003) and M. Tech. in Materials Science from IIT Kanpur (2003-2005). After his PhD, he gained experience in the area of colloidal surface modified hybrid nanocrystals as a part of his post-doctoral study at Tohoku University, Japan (Oct. 2009 – Mar. 2011). After the Tsunami and earthquake in the Tohoku region (March 2011), he left the ongoing job and joined in a temporary research associate position under Prof. A.H. Chokshi in Materials Engineering, IISc Bangalore. He joined TATA Steel R&D in April, 2012, as a researcher and worked there in various coating related projects. In September, 2013, he joined IIT Patna as an Assistant Professor.
