Dr. Shubham Kala

About

Born and brought up in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, India. I did my B.Sc. and M.Sc. Physics from Henwati Nandan Bahuguna Central University, Srinagar Garhwal, Utarakhand India. I have completed my research work in Theoretical Physics from IUCAA Centre for Astronomy Research and Development (ICARD), Gurukula Kangri (Deemed to be University), Haridwar, India under the supervision of Dr. Hemwati Nandan. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Theoretical Physics Division at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai. My research interests encompass a broad spectrum of astrophysical phenomena and gravitational physics. My specialisation in gravitational lensing, studying how massive celestial objects distort the light from background sources. I also focused on black hole shadows, investigating the event horizon's appearance through observational data. Additionally, I explores quasi-normal modes of black holes, which are critical for understanding their dynamics and stability. My work extends to neutron stars, particularly in understanding their structure and behaviour under extreme conditions. A key aspect of my research involves the detection and analysis of low-frequency gravitational waves, aiming to uncover new insights into the universe's most elusive phenomena.
