About
I am Dr. R. Pramod, currently serving as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University. With more than 16 years of academic, research, and institutional leadership experience, I work at the intersection of Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Mechanics, and Advanced Manufacturing.
Before joining DSCE, I served as Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, where I played key roles in research development, innovation ecosystems, accreditation activities, and interdisciplinary academic initiatives. I held leadership responsibilities including IQAC Campus Coordinator, Vice President of Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), NPTEL SPOC, KSCST SPOC, and Conference Co-Chair for international conferences.
My expertise includes Composite Materials, Fracture Mechanics, Tribology, Finite Element Analysis (FEA/FEM), Additive Manufacturing, Sustainability, Robotics, and AI/ML-driven Engineering Systems. My research focuses on solving complex engineering problems through a combination of experimental methods, computational modeling, simulation-driven design, and intelligent data-driven approaches.
I have published extensively in reputed Q1 and high-impact international journals, reviewed 100+ international journal manuscripts, and contributed to editorial and technical review activities for Scopus-indexed journals. I have also successfully carried out and contributed to sponsored research and innovation projects funded by KSCST, VGST, and Amrita Live-in-Labs, addressing practical challenges in sustainability, materials engineering, manufacturing, and community-centered technology solutions.
