About
M. Sc. Building Engineering (2004) and PhD in Architecture (2010) with a Predoctoral fellowship (beca FPI 2005-2009) in the Energy Efficiency in Buildings R&D Unit (UiE3) of CIEMAT. Since 2009 I was involved in many R&D projects, generally public funded and related to renewable energy in the built environment in (UiE3)-CIEMAT where I am currently working as a researcher. I am specialized in building energy modelling, thermal comfort evaluations and climate assessments. I have been participated in more than 20 national or international research projects related to energy efficiency in buildings or urban environments. I have published 16 articles in scientific and technical journals, 3 books, 5 book chapters and more than 50 technical documents. I have been participated in more than 15 national and international conferences and conferences. My principal research lines are oriented to the urban energy assessments: dynamic simulation models of buildings, renewable systems and urban environments; development of new models to optimize the energy performance of buildings and neighborhoods; climatic characterization; experimental energy evaluation of buildings and urban environments and comfort thermal quantifications. I deal with façade technologies characterized by the dynamic behaviour and with embedded solar energy exploitation devices. Finally, I have given support in the management of research projects, through collaboration in the development of the technical part of the proposals, collaboration in the justification for purchases dynamic simulation tools and execution the technical tasks.
I am participating in several National and International expert and advisory committees. Lecturer in several masters, specialization courses and training activities in Universities. I did 2 research stays: one in the Polytechnic of Turin - TEBE Research Group of the Energy (DENERG) Department (Lighting and Advanced Building Envelopes teams), hosted by Prof Valentina Serra; one at TRANSSOLAR Gmh, Stuttgart, Germany, hosted by Matthias Schuler.
