About
I am a Research Scholar in the Department of Chemistry at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, India, with research interests in Bio-Inorganic Chemistry and metalloprotein chemistry. My research focuses on elucidating the structure–function relationship and reaction mechanisms of the heme-containing bacterioferritin A (BfrA) protein from Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). I investigate the role of the heme cofactor in electron transfer, iron mobilization, and redox regulation to better understand how BfrA contributes to iron homeostasis and the survival of Mtb under hostile physiological conditions.
My broader research interests include heme proteins, metalloproteins, bioinorganic chemistry, electron transfer, redox chemistry, and mechanistic enzymology. I am committed to conducting high-quality interdisciplinary research that bridges inorganic chemistry and molecular biology to address fundamental questions in biological metal ion chemistry.
