About
Dr Sydur Rahman is a Lecturer and Researcher in Environmental Engineering in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Southern Cross University, Australia. Prior to that position, he worked as a Senior Scientist (Water Resources Engineering) over 12 yrs at the Department Water Management in Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute. He received a PhD degree in Environmental Engineering from Southern Cross University. He had completed a Master of Water Resources Engineering degree, and a Bachelor in Engineering (First Class Honours).
Currently, Dr Sydur's research has focused on waste and circular-economy challenges, including wastewater treatment, nutrient recovery from wastewater, plastic waste management, plastic waste recycling, resource recovery, and life cycle assessment. His research interests also include water resources management, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and modelling, hydrogeology, and soil and water contamination.
