Dr. Avdhesh Kr. Sharma is Professor and Chairman in Department of Mechanical Engineering & Director UG Admissions, D.C.R. University of Science & Technology, Murthal (Sonepat) Haryana, India. Dr Sharma holds Doctorate Degree from Mechanical Engineering of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 2006. He has rich experience in teaching and research of more than 27 years. His research interest includes – Design of thermal systems and optimization, Biomass/MSW gasification and Gasifier-Engine technology, Thermal power plant, IC Engine Process modeling, Advance Heat Transfer and CFD, short Micro-tube-heat exchangers, Microscale Heat Transfer: Nanofluid. He has published 77 articles in International/National Journals and Conferences (with Google Citation: 1332; h-index: 18; i10-index: 24). One of his research articles has been awarded 3rd rank among TOP 25 HOTTEST ARTICLES IN ELSEVIER.
Dr Sharma is a member of professional societies such as ISHMT, ASME and IRC Scientific and Technical Committee & Editorial Review Board on Mechanical & Industrial Engineering.
He has visited the Laboratory of Heat and Mass Transfer : Microscale Heat Transfer at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Lausanne SWITZERLAND in 2007 and also visited Orlando, Florida, USA for technical research paper presentation in ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition 2005. Dr. Sharma was also visited Dalian, China in 2011 for Expert lecture in Low Carbon Earth Summit -2011 CHINA in 2011. Visited London (United Kingdom) in 2018 for technical paper presentation: 20th Int. Research Conf. ICBGP 2018 (WASET).
He has delivered a number of invited lectures in summer/winter schools/conferences/seminars and Webinars. Dr. Sharma is guiding a number of M. Tech and Ph.D. Projects. His name is listed in Board of Reviewer of International Journal of Engineering. He has completed various internally/externally funded research projects including UGC Sponsored Major Research Project “Design and Development of a Multi-Flow biomass gasifier for Engine applications” (2011-14).
