About
I have been working as a scientist for the past 20 years. I hold a doctorate degree in science (nanobiotechnology) and a diploma in web design. My scientific explorations began when I started working at the CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow for dissertation thesis, after which I received the “CSIR diamond jubilee research intern award” from the Ministry of Science and Technology to pursue research at the same place. I received my doctorate of science from the Pukyong National University, Busan, South Korea with biomedical nanotechnology as my core expertise. My efforts as a responsible researcher were further appreciated by the National Award under the Best Employee category by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India. I am now placed as a principal scientist at India’s premier research institute, the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad for more than a decade and a half. My research revolves around fabricating targeted drug delivery systems, scaffold fabrication towards bone tissue engineering, and nano based optical detection system development. Further, apart from my routine research assignments, I have been closely associated with the BIG program of BIRAC both as a reviewer as well as a mentor for past 8 years now and have been a part of Mentor-Mentee connects sessions at various points of time, here at Hyderabad. Placed in CCMB, I intellectually work very frequently with the incubatees at the Atal Incubation Center (AIC-CCMB) and our own incubatees under the CRTDH programme. I am an integral part of the skill development and young innovators programme of CCMB to mentor young minds and prospective startups in my field of research and also as an evaluator at various early stage pitching platforms. I have been awarded the MAHE award by the Society for Biomaterials and Artificial Organs, the IAAM Scientist medal for the year 2017 by the International Association of Advanced Materials and the Young Scientist award by the Indian Chitin and Chitosan Society 2017.
