About
Dr. Divya Lohani is Professor of Computer Science & Engineering at NIIT University, Neemrana. She earned her Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, M.Tech in CSE from the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, and B.Tech in IT from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow. Her research expertise is in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber-Physical Systems, Smart Environments, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Context-Aware Sensing and Analytics, Drone Technologies, UAV Networks, and Robotics.
She has made significant research contributions through publications in reputed international journals and conferences, including the IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Sensors, IEEE SAS, IEEE MDM, and AAAI. She has also successfully completed a research grant funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
In her prior role at DIT University, Dehradun, she served as the Coordinator for the M.Tech and Ph.D. programs and was the faculty in-charge of the Center of Excellence in Internet of Things and the Center of Excellence in Drone Technologies. Under her leadership, these centers undertook key research projects in smart environments, intelligent transportation systems, and energy monitoring using end-to-end IoT prototypes that integrate sensors, edge devices, and cloud analytics, and conducted hands-on student workshops on drone building, programming, and flight practice.
Prior to that, she served for nearly a decade at Shiv Nadar University NCR (an Institution of Eminence), where she coordinated the B.Tech and Ph.D. programs, and contributed to academics, research, and industry-linked initiatives. During her tenure, she played a key role in establishing an industry-funded Internet of Things laboratory in collaboration with technology partners and contributed significantly to the development of a cybersecurity laboratory to support advanced teaching and research.
Throughout her career, Dr. Lohani has been instrumental in institution-building. She has consistently contributed to designing modern curricula, setting up cutting-edge laboratories and Centers of Excellence, supervising Ph.D. scholars, and creating a strong research culture across academics and industry-linked initiatives.
