Mubasher Hussain

About

Mubasher Hussain (Ph.D. in Islamic Studies/Sharia law and a madrasa/religious seminary graduate, and Harvard Law School's Fulbright Alumnus), has been serving since 2006 as a Teacher/Professor of Islamic Law (now Head Hadith/Sunnah department/secretary of National Sirah Study Centre) at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). He has enhanced his professional skills working with several eminent social scientists (i.e., Professor Baber Johansen (Harvard University, USA), Emeritus Prof. Zafar Ishaq Ansari (IIUI), Prof. Mumtaz Ahmad (IIUI/Hampton University), Prof. Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi (IIUI), Prof. Muhammad Khalid Masud (IIUI) and Prof. S. M. Zaman (IIUI). Dr. Hussain has more than 18 years of academic (research/teaching) experience at several reputed institutes and has an excellent command of Arabic, English, Punjabi and Urdu, and working knowledge of Persian. He has authored more than 30 books, translated 5 books, edited several volumes and published numerous research papers in well-recognized journals. Besides, he has also taught several courses on Islamic Studies and Islamic Law and Jurisprudence to grad/postgraduate students. He is a frequent participant at national and international conferences, seminars and workshops. He has participated in several teachers training workshops and academic conferences/seminars at several American universities. Dr. Hussain has more than 15 years administrative experience including, 1)the Founding Director of Mubasher Academy Lahore (an institute of Islamic research and publication); 2)Head of Hadith and Sirah department (IRI, Islamic University), and 3)Secretary of National Sirah Study Centre, IIUI.
