Susmit Bagchi

About

Dr. Susmit Bagchi received B.Sc. (Honours) from Calcutta University in 1993 with Merit Scholarship from Ramakrishna Mission, B.E. (with Distinction, First Class and Third rank in the university) in Electronics Engineering from Nagpur University in 1997, and M.E. (with Medal, First Class and First rank in the university) in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in 1999 from Bengal Engineering College (presently IIEST, Shibpur). He studied Postgraduate certificate course (Proficience Programme) on Software Quality Standard and Assurance at IISc, Bangalore and obtained Grade-A in 2000. He obtained his Ph.D. (Engineering) in Information Technology in 2008 from Bengal Engineering and Science University (presently IIEST, Shibpur). He has diverse training and working experiences in R&D industries (SIEMENS, WEBEL, DRDO, Samsung Ltd.) and in academia including Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP). He was an Assistant Professor (2010–2014) and Associate Professor (2014–2019) at Gyeongsang National University (GNU), Jinju, South Korea. He was promoted to a tenured Professor at the Department of Aerospace and Software Engineering (Informatics), GNU, Jinju, South Korea on September 2019 (he received awards from the President of GNU several times) and he worked there until 2024. In 2025, he worked for Pailan College of Management and Technology, Joka, Kolkata in Computer Science and Engineering department as a Professor and Head of Department. At present he is working at Adamas University as Professor and Dean (School of Engineering and Technology-SOET). Earlier, he worked extensively in Distributed Computing. He is always inclined to Mathematics and applied Mathematical rigor in his research. His current research interests (including Computer Science) are in Topology (General, Algebraic, Geometric), Topological algebra, Topological aspects of Real Algebraic Geometry, and Analysis.
