It is my pleasure to introduce myself as Dr. Kuntal Ghosh, worked as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Engineering at Siksha 'O' Anusansdhan University, previously Research Associate in the Centre for Research in Nanotechnology & Sc. at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, jointly under the guidance of Prof. Anirban Guha and Prof. Siddhartha Duttagupta who also supervised my Ph.D. thesis. I have successfully defended my Ph.D. thesis titled "Multidimensional Optimization of solar photovoltaic canopy integrated airborne platforms for power generation Subject to non-uniform illumination and wind-induced velocity transients". This system can be employed for various applications from developing autonomous stratospheric airships, remote sensing, surveillance, and generating electric propulsion to air quality monitoring etc. The topic covers extensive aerospace system modeling for optimized airborne solar power generation for which I have done several courses in aerospace engineering too.



Currently, I am holding the position of Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Expert at the Department of IoT in Savonia University of Applied Sciences, Kuopio, Finland. Heere, I am working on developing a multivariate timeseries anomaly detection framework to identify real-time threat in a Smart water distribution network. Before joining here, I was working as Engineering Manager for Robotics Team in Technology innovation Hub-IoT at IIT Bombay. Under my mentorship a group engineers work on different projects like obstacle sensing and avoid path planning algorithm for pesticide spraying drones, development ground rover for viticulture, Aerial phenotyping for prediction of agricultural crop yield etc. Besides that, I am also involved in project proposal drafting and meeting the stakeholders and new investors to foster Industry 4.0 projects where cyber-physical systems can be integrated. Before joining TiH Iot, I briefly worked as a senior navigation engineer in spacetech based start-up Inspecity Space Research Lab Pvt Ltd in Thane for 6 months from September 2023 to Feb 2024. Before that, I worked as an associate professor in Asansol Engineering College after obtaining a postdoc sponsored by DST-SERB at the Department of Aerospace Engineering in IISc Bangalore. There I carried out my research on simultaneous localization and planning for autonomous indoor robots and drones. This project incorporates knowledge of machine learning and deep learning. In this project, I used Intel RealSense depth cameras for collecting point cloud information besides executing ORB SLAM for indoor navigation and mapping surrounding environments in real-time. In addition, point cloud data is also explored for 3D construction of scenes using Point Cloud Library.

Previously as an Assistant Professor in ITER I acted as a chief instructor for the (B.Tech level) courses 1. Pattern classification and 2. Wireless sensor networks and for the M.Tech course mobile computing. I was responsible for designing the curriculum and preparing mid-semester and end-semester examination question papers. Both these subjects are well acquainted with the interest of the computer science department too. In addition to this, I was also responsible for drafting the course curriculum and course outcome design during the NBA accreditation in the present organization Asansol Engineering College. I oversaw the successful NBA accreditation of Asansol Engineering College. I also acted as Head of the Department from January 2023 to August 2023 for taking Dept. of ECE forward to meet futuristic challenges and bridge the gap between academia and industry.
