About

My primary area of vocation is the development and standardization of a small animal model to evaluate bioactive(s) for their therapeutic efficacy and toxicity profile. I have developed an inclination towards the infectious diseases and wish to prospect molecules from medicinal plants that could be antibacterial, antifungal or antimalarial. My major project area is prospection of medicinal plants for their possible anti-malarial activity through in-vitro and in-vivo methods. Besides, I have also honed my skills on the animal models of typhoid and candidiasis. While working on both parasite and bacteria, we have also standardized a co-infection model Plasmodium-Salmonella in mice. Since the immune system is intricately involved in any infectious condition, my secondary area of interest is to look into the modulation of the immune system to overcome the disease condition. As support to other institutional projects, I also evaluate molecules for anti-staphylococcal, anti-salmonella and anti-candidal activity in rodent models. My scientific career would be worth if I could translate all my science into products or know-how’s for human welfare, which I have been focusing upon and have been partially successful.
