About

My doctoral work involved designing and evaluating chitosan-based bioactive nanofibrous hemostats for emergency wound care. These materials exhibited hemostatic response times under 10 seconds in both in vitro and in vivo rat models. I performed full-spectrum pre-clinical evaluations, including arterial bleeding, liver puncture model, wound healing studies, toxicity assessments, immunogenicity, and clot mechanical integrity. These trials required survival surgeries and post-operative care, providing me with experience in animal handling, ethical compliance, and physiological monitoring in rodents and rabbits.
Beyond hemostats, I have contributed to projects including 3D bioprinting for testicular tissue engineering, bone tissue scaffolds in collaboration with ceramic engineering, physics department at NIT Rourkela, and the development of injectable nanofibril-based hydrogels as intramammary teat sealant for treating mastitis in dairy animals. I have worked with various biomaterials and possess strong hands-on expertise in molecular biology techniques, immunohistochemistry, and biomaterial characterization. This has resulted in over 11 peer-reviewed publications, including in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Ceramics International, and the Journal of Biomaterials Science, which involve animal model-based experimentation.
