About
I am Purushothaman Palani, a chemical science researcher specializing in organic and materials chemistry. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from C. Abdul Hakeem College, India, affiliated with Thiruvalluvar University, in 2016, where I graduated as a University Topper. I subsequently completed my Master of Science in Chemistry at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India, from 2016 to 2018.
Following my postgraduate studies, I dedicated a period of time to preparing for the civil service examinations. Although these attempts were not successful, the experience significantly broadened my intellectual perspective and strengthened my understanding of the importance of contributing meaningfully to both the scientific community and society.
In 2020, I began my Ph.D. in Chemistry at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore. During my doctoral research, I was honored to receive the Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, a prestigious recognition awarded to promising research scholars. Currently, working as a research in Sungkyunkwan University, Suwon campus, south korea.
My research focuses on the design and synthesis of thiophene- and ferrocene-conjugated molecules, as well as covalent organic polymers, with applications in hazardous pollutant remediation, photophysical studies, and electrochemical systems. My work aims to develop functional molecular and polymeric materials that can address pressing environmental and technological challenges.
As an academic researcher, I am motivated by the belief that scientific inquiry should ultimately contribute to building a more sustainable and responsible future for coming generations. I aspire for my research to create a lasting and positive impact within the scientific community and in society at large.
