About
I received Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from All India institute of Medical Sciences at New Delhi, the best medical school in India. This pioneer institution is governed by the AIIMS Act, 1956 and operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. I have a total of 12 years of research experience in the field of Immunology, autoimmune disorder & cardiovascular diseases with special emphasis on studying the role of T cells and dendritic cells. I am an expert in the field of unconventional human Gamma Delta T cells (γδ T cells) and dendritic cells.
I have ~5.6 years of research experience in United states from top notch institutions like University of California at Davis, Yale school of Medicine at New Haven and NYU Grossman school of Medicine at New York University. My current and prospective research in the field of Immunology, focusing on the autoimmune diseases, will provides considerable benefits to the United States as a whole. Advances in this filed that covers more than 80 chronic inflammatory diseases and translating my cutting-edge research will benefit academia, clinical studies, as well as the public health in the U.S. My current work at Department of Neuroscience is to study and understand the role of astrocyte and immune cell responses to inflammation in the Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) mouse model that is relevant to the human Multiple sclerosis (MS) disease. My research work has been highly recognized and evaluated by the international research community. I am a lifetime member of the Indian Immunology Society, a trainee member of the American Association of Immunology (AAI), and an active member of the American Heart Association (AHA). I have received several awards and recognition throughout my research career. Some of the notable achievements are SFRN REPAIR Fellowship from American Heart Association (2022), Travel Award, Australian Society of Immunology (2018) Senior Research Fellowship from Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi (2018) and G. P. Talwar Young Scientist Award, Indian Immunology Society (2017). My research work has been cited by experts and pioneers in the field of immunology, CVDs and autoimmunity.
