About
Karthikeyan Thiyagarajan recently started his new tenure as an Associate Professor at Amity University. He completed his tenure as a Post-Doctoral Consultant Scientist at the Borlaug Institute for South Asia-International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre, Punjab, India. His most recent research has been focused on marker trait associations of wheat micronutritional elements zinc and iron. His previous research in wheat and its wild relatives includes studying specific genes for wheat salinity, drought, etc., through the Vavilov-Frankel Fellowship from Bioversity International (2014-2015) and an International Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Italian National Agency for New Technologies Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (2012-2014), and subsequently continuing as a Post-Doctoral Consultant Scientist in the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (2016-2024).
Karthikeyan Thiyagarajan completed his Ph.D. in Agrobiodiversity-Plant Genetic Resources in 2009 at Sant' Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa, Italy. He obtained his master's degree in plant biotechnology in 2005 and his bachelor's degree in microbiology in 2002 from Bharathidasan University, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, India.
