About
Dr. Prashanta Kr. Mahato is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institue of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. He has joined there after completing his PhD from the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur under the guidance of Prof. D. K. Maiti on 2010. He did Post Doctoral studies under Erasmus Mundus India4EU exchange programme in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Polytechnic di Torino, Turin, Italy. There, he was working with Prof. Erasmo Carrera's group on static, dynamic and aeroelastic analysis of laminated composites beams, blades and boxes using CUF finite element model. He published his work in different prominent Journal like Composite Structure, Aerospace Engineering (ASCE), Journal of Composite Material, Thin walled structure etc . His research interests include study of laminated composite structure, smart structures, computational & experimental mechanics and aero-elasticity.
