With over 29 years of distinguished experience as an academician, administrator, and
research scientist in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Medical Sciences, I have made extensive contributions across domains such as novel drug delivery systems, advanced pharmaceutical analytical techniques, oncology therapeutics, Ayurvedic formulation development and analysis, medical device innovation, Clinical Research and pharmacovigilance, including hemovigilance and materiovigilance, etc.
My scholarly output includes 290 peer-reviewed publications (Google Scholar: h-index 31,i10-index 167, citations: 7,826; Scopus: h-index 25, citations: 2,586), 23 books, and 24 book chapters published with national and international publishers. My innovation portfolio comprises 330 patents filed (149 granted) and 173 copyrights (97 awarded), underscoring a strong commitment to intellectual property generation. I currently serve as Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Director – Rankings, Accreditations, and Approvals at Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mullana, Ambala, Haryana a NAAC A++ accredited, UGC Category-I institution, University overall ranked 71, Pharmacy 26, Medical sciences 35 in NIRF and recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India and Public Funded Research Institute by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. I also hold the position of Director (Research) at the Maharishi Markandeshwar Trust, overseeing research strategy and innovation management across its campuses in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. My techno-commercial and translational research orientation has enabled the development of an innovation-driven academic ecosystem that fosters entrepreneurship, industry-academia engagement, and a startup culture. I have facilitated over 30 successful technology transfers and implemented a ‘campus company’ model to support student- and faculty-led ventures. As CEO of the institutional incubation center, Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, I mentor student entrepreneurs from ideation to implementation.
I have served as Principal Co-Investigator for prestigious government-funded projects,
securing over INR 60 million from agencies such as TIFAC-CORE and DST, Government of India. In addition, I have led consultancy and industry-sponsored projects exceeding INR 500 million, backed by multinational corporations. My core strengths include research administration, grant writing, regulatory compliance, international collaboration-technology scale-up, and financial planning.
Under my leadership, over 60 MoUs have been executed with national and international industries, government bodies, and public sector undertaking ‘National Research Development Corporation’ to support product development, troubleshooting, technology transfer, and collaborative research. I have also organized numerous Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, and technical training sessions to enhance academic excellence and industry readiness. My overarching vision is to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial application through sustainable innovation, indigenous technology development, technology transfer, and capacity building, establishing academic institutions as engines of knowledge-driven enterprise.
