Dr. Pratyush Kumar, MBBS, DNB (Family Medicine), MNAMS, PGDHIVM, DFID, is a physician and diabetes specialist based in Patna, Bihar, India. He provides evidence-based care in general medicine, diabetes, HIV, filariasis and geriatric health. He is Chair of the WONCA Working Party on Rural Practice (Rural WONCA), 2025–2027; Founder Chair and Immediate Past Chair of WONCA Rural South Asia and AFPI Rural; and Chief Editor of the Journal of Surgical Specialty and Rural Practice. His academic work includes peer-reviewed research on infectious diseases, diabetes, primary care and rural health, as well as presentations at international medical conferences. His clinical, research and advocacy work focuses on comprehensive and affordable healthcare and improved access for rural and underserved communities.
