About
I have been working at Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Hyderabad since June 2017. First, as Professor in in Electronics & Communications Engineering dept during June 2017 to April 2022 (5 years) and as Professor, Computer Science & Engineering (Data Science) dept since May 2022 (more than 3 years) . I am basically an Electronics & Communications Engineer with 39 years of professional experience, out of which 24 years is in industry and 15 years is in full-time teaching. I have completed 16 NPTEL courses with 40 credits in Machine Learning and Data Science. Recently I also completed AICTE QIP-PG Certification Programme with 18 Credits in Machine Learning from IIIT, Rachur, Karnataka.
I did my B.Tech (ECE) degree from JNTU, Kakinada in 1983, M. Tech. (Communications) from IIT, Kharagpur (through GATE) in 1987 and Ph.D. (Image Processing) from Osmania University, Hyderabad in 2001.
I taught 40+ UG/PG courses: Machine Learning, Data Representation & Management, Data Wrangling and Visualization, Data Mining, Probability Theory & Stochastic Processing, Signals and Systems, Image Processing, Radar Systems, Signal Processing, Java, C++, Python Programming, spread over 35 years for 120+ Batches or Classes.
I have Hands-on Design Experience of about 20+ Hardware Prototypes and 15+ Software Products using both Analog and Embedded Digital Technologies including Algorithms, Hardware, Firmware and Software. I worked in industry/R&D as Scientist, Senior Scientist, General Manager (R&D) and Director. I worked in academics as Principal, Dean, Department Head and Professor.
My hardware product designs include VHF/UHF tuners, Telephony Terminal Equipment, Transaction Automation, DSP sections of Radar Seeker, Radio Altimeter and Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) Receiver. I also designed software modules for VOIP in Physical Layer and Vector Graphics Library and implementation knowledge/skills of some ITU Speech Codecs, ITU Data & Fax Modems, MP3 & WMV Audio Codecs, JPEG & JPEG2000 Image Codecs, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H264 Video Codecs and Flash Player Codecs on Desktop/DSP platforms.
I executed a handful of consultancy projects in the areas of Communications, Radar Systems, Image Processing, Missile Terminal Guidance and Speech Processing.
I am a Senior Member of IEEE, Life Fellow of IETE, a Life member of ISTE, Life member of Acoustic Society of India (ASI), Life member of Computer Society of India (CSI) and a Life member of South Indian Cultural Association (SICA).
My current research interests include Signal Processing, Speech & Music processing, Radar Systems, Data Mining and Machine Learning.
