About
A qualified electrical engineer who is trained as a neuroscientist and has developed efficient human iPSC and Drosophila models of neurological disorders for genetic & drug screening. I am currently undertaking a PhD, co-supervised by Prof Siddharthan Chandran (University of Edinburgh) & Dr. Gareth Miles (Reader, University of St Andrews), investigating motoneuron-astrocyte crosstalk, and deciphering mechanisms underlying the dysfunction of motoneurons derived from ALS patient iPSCs. I am an expert on electrophysiology and calcium imaging techniques and utilize them to develop high throughout drug screening assays. As part of NC3Rs funded CRACK IT challenge, I am involved with characterization of human dorsal root ganglion neurons derived from human organ donors.
