6. Awards & Honors: In 1989, he won 1st prize in Young Physicist Colloquium organized by Indian Physical Society for his pioneering research that a new mechanism, called Photomeson Process, could be responsible for supposed detection of Ultra High Energy Gamma Rays from the famous cosmic source Cygnus X-3.
In 1012, he shared DAE Group Achievement Award for upgradation of BARC’s Gamma Ray Telescope at Mt. Abu, Rajasthan.
7. Meanwhile in 1992, was selected as as Post Doc student of Sir Martin Rees under EC-DST Postdoctoral scheme, but no PhD degree!
8. In 2004, qualified as a Senior NRC Fellow to work with Dr Demos Kazanas at NASA/GSFC. But not selected finally, and one of the reasons could be that BARC scientists were not allowed to work in US Govt Labs following 2nd Nuclear Test by India.
