About
Hi! I’m Dr. Monika Kulshreshtha. I’m an Anthropologist with over 7 years of hands-on experience in research, public health, sports science, monitoring and evaluation.
🧠 Current Role
Currently, I am working at DMEO, NITI Aayog as a Monitoring & Evaluation lead, supporting evidence-based decision-making at the national level. I’ve trained over 250+ Indian and international officials on Logical Frameworks, Theory of Change and SMART Indicators.
🏋️♀️ Past Experience in Sports Science
Previously, I worked as a Sports Scientist at the Sports Authority of India, conducting Anthropometric assessments and research on elite athletes in disciplines like wrestling, hockey, athletics, and taekwondo. I also set up a high-tech Human Performance Lab in SAI, Lucknow and delivered lectures to coaches and athletes on Sports Anthropometry.
🎓Academic Background
My academic journey includes a PhD in Anthropology from Delhi University, with a focus on physical fitness, public health, and Kinanthropometry, The research skills I’ve developed—quantitative and qualitative—help me draw real-world insights. Having worked with elite athletes, tribal, and rural communities, I bring a people-first approach in my work.
💃 Passion for Arts & Health
I am deeply committed to the field of Arts and Health and have explored how dance support physical and mental well-being. I believe in the healing power of movement and have published multiple studies on dance, fitness, and mental health. I’m also a proud member of the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS), staying connected with thought leaders in dance science.
If you're working in public health, dance science, evaluation, or exploring how art connects to health—I’d love to connect and collaborate. Let’s build something meaningful together. 🤝
